SCHEDULE & INFORMATION

MONDAY, APRIL 12 2027

A joyful pre-wedding celebration where the bride is adorned with intricate henna (Mehendi) designs, symbolizing love and new beginnings. At the same time, guests join in Geet Gawai - a traditional Mauritian gathering filled with folk songs, rhythmic clapping, and dancing. Expect a colorful, relaxed atmosphere full of music, laughter, and shared celebration.

Location: Private residence in Rivere du Rempart, Mauritius

Dresscode: Relaxed.

For women, think colorful and comfortable (such as a long summer dress or trousers). Traditional attire (e.g. sari, lehenga, or churidar) is very welcome for everyone. If you’re not from Mauritian culture but would like to wear traditional clothing, please feel free to do so.

For men, long trousers paired with a shirt work perfectly. A light suit with closed shoes is also a great option.

Atmosphere: This is a relaxed and intimate evening rather than a late-night party. The focus is on enjoying the setting, food, music, and traditions together. Please note, there is a swimming pool at the venue without child protection. Swimming in the pool is not allowed.

Mehendi: For females Mehendi artists will be available to apply henna designs for those who wish. This will take place between 17:00 and 20:00, alongside dinner. As the dinner is served in a relaxed, non-seated format, guests are free to enjoy both the food and Mehendi at their own pace. Guests will be asked to indicate in the RSVP whether they would like Mehendi, to help us plan accordingly. Please also note that it is customary to tip the Mehendi artists in cash (approximately 500 Mauritian rupees, ~10–12 euros).

Leaving Early: If you arrive by bus and wish to leave earlier, our wedding planner, Keshav, will be on-site to help arrange transportation, and a driver can be coordinated on the day.
